What is PIRN?

The Paediatric Inpatient Research Network (PIRN) was launched at an inaugural meeting in Toronto held on July 23, 2019. From this, the purpose of PIRN was established: to work with children and families to generate evidence that improves care and outcomes for hospitalized children in general paediatric settings.

News & Updates

Annual Meeting

PIRN is excited to announce that registration for the 7th Annual Canadian Paediatric Inpatient Research Network (PIRN) Meeting is now open! The meeting will be taking place from November 13-14th, 2025 in Vancouver!

This year's meeting is entitled "Beyond Our Walls: Collaborating to Advance Paediatric Hospital Medicine". Together, we aim to explore how PIRN can build relationships with interdisciplinary research colleagues, strengthen connections with non-tertiary hospital centres, and increase research accessibility for participants.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We would like to acknowledge the land on which SickKids operates. For thousands of years it has been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat and Petun First Nations, the Seneca, and most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit River. Today, Toronto is home to Indigenous Peoples from across Turtle Island. SickKids is committed to working toward new relationships that include First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples, and is grateful for the opportunity to share this land in caring for children and their families.
